Mehmed wins and reunites the empire, when Bayezid’s son tried fighting for control.
Mehmed was one of the greatest rulers for the Ottoman Empire. -
Oct 22, 1453
Mehmed II rules for thirty years and becomes a political, cultural, and economic center creating and building mosques, bazaars, roads, inns, and baths.
Mehmed was also one of the greatest rulers, named after his father. -

Heavy fighting continues, but the Byzantine capital is defeated and is now called Istanbul.
This is the Istanbul, still standing to this day. -

At Suleyman I's death, his son Selim II rules but he is not like his father and makes the wrong choices for the empire.
Selim II was a huge part in the quick decline for the Ottoman Empire. -
Poor leaders continue, reducing the Ottomoan threat upon the European world.
The Ottoman's territory was becoming smaller compared to it's once huge stretch of land. -
Abdul Hamit II tries to reform the empire, including adding a constitution and a parliament, but failed.
Many fail to reform the empire after its huge struggle, but one of the most famous was Abdul Hamit II. -
Lost battle of WWI and ended with a peace treaty, agreeing the Ottoman Empire will never to exist again.
The Ottomans agree to the peace treaty and become no longer the Ottoman Empire.
