During this time, the Minoans were very active in trade. As they traded their goods, their artwork started to influence the mainland and beyond. -

Mycenaean culture begins to spread on Crete.
Mycenaean style is apparent in Minoan art beginning around 1500 BCE. -
1450 BCE
Destruction in Crete
It is debated whether an earthquake or some other natural occurrence caused the widespread destruction on the island, but it was certainly the downfall of Minoan culture. -
1100 BCE
Mycenaeans are now showing Minoan influences in their artwork
This is a Mycenaean piece, but the Minoan influence is apparent. Although Crete was conquered, the beauty of the Minoan's unique style was absorbed into the cultures of both Mycenaean Crete and mainland Greece.
