  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    This act was passed because the king was in a lot of debt from the war so they decided to tax the colonists really high on sugar so that he could make more money. The colonists didn't like this because one of the most popular things to buy and make with sugar was rum.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act was passed so that it could protect colonial interests. The British sent soldiers to protect the colonists from the French or the Native Americans. The colonists didn't like this but did at they same time because they liked being protected but didn't like the soldiers being everywhere.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    It was passed to have colonists pay extra taxes on pretty much anything paper needed to have a legal stamp on it. The colonists hated this because every paper they had to use for something they had to pay somebody to stamp it for them.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    This act was passed to tax almost every good imported from the British, and it said that it was lawful to tax everything that came under the King's seal. The colonists didn't like this because they didn't like being taxed on anything not to mention everything.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    This act was passed so that the colonists were taxed on all tea because they could only get it from the British and everybody drank it and it was also so that the king could make more money. The colonists didn't like this because they loved tea and almost everybody drank it too.
  • The Boston Port Act

    The Boston Port Act
    The British were really close to losing the colonies so they passed this act so that the colonists couldn't load any ships or trade anything. The colonists didn't like this because people would have lost their jobs and had to pay more because everything they had came from the British now so they have to pay for it all now.

    This act was passed because the British were really close to losing the colonies so the British punished them. It says that the colonists can't load any ships and or trade anything.
  • The Administration of Justice Act

    The Administration of Justice Act
    This act was passed so that the British could punish Boston and so that in the colonies no private meetings were allowed and all crimes were overseen by the king. The colonists didn't like this because it made it harder for the colonists to plan against the British.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    The Quebec Act was passed to not control the Colonist's religion as much. Citizens got to keep their religion when they moved to a knew place that was controlled by the british. Colonists were happy about this because they got to keep their religion if they wanted to move.
