Sugar Act
The British needed money because they were broke. They then taxed the colonists sugar. The colonists needed sugar for rum which was very popular at the time. -
Quartering Act
The British were still broke and didn't want to pay for food housing for the soldiers. They made an act so that they could force Colonists to feed and house their soldiers.This made the colonists upset. -
The Stamp Act
The British where still broke so they taxed the Colonist again. They taxed the colonist on official stamps they needed for paperwork. This made the colonists upset. -
The Townshend Act
This taxed the colonists on glass,red lead, white lead, painters colors, tea, and paper. It also prevented frauds. This made the colonists, especially artists, upset. -
The Tea Act
The Crown was still broke. The King taxed the colonists on tea and prevented any colonists from selling tea so they made all of the profit. The colonists where upset so they dumped all the tea into Boston Harbor -
The Intolerable Acts
This act was passed to stop the colonists from importing anything from Boston, it let the British make all final verdicts on trails, and let the British take claim on American soil.
