The Sugar Act
The colonists had to pay taxes for sugar. Parliament would get the money from tax collectors, and give pay off the debt of the French-Indian war. The King spent far too much money on the war. -
The Quartering Act
If a soldier or officer was brought to a colonists house the colonist was required to provide food and shelter. This is due to officers and soldiers not having a place to stay. So the colonists had to provide them with whatever they needed. -
The Stamp Act
The colonists would be taxed individually for stamping anything. Well, anything but letters though. Every other paper required a tax though. -
The Townshend Act
The acts such as the stamp act was considered illegal so the British taxed imported goods. This was created to prevent smuggling and get money back from the French-Indian war. This is because the British could not support their own people so they taxed the colonists. -
The Tea Act
Smuggling tea from anywhere else but the East Indies is illegal and will be taxed. East Indies is the main provider of tea and is connected to the British Government. The British East Indies tea company needed money too. -
The Boston Port Act
You cannot load or unload a boat of tea without getting taxed. This caused the colonists to get outraged. This caused about a million dollars worth of tea dumped into water -
MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act
The colonists were a "handful" and needed to be governed. The king sent a representative over, and nothing can happen without the king or the representative. So if he is on the other side of the colonies, you would have to wait til he visits your colony. -
The Quebec Act
The people in Quebec had the right to keep their Catholic faith, and they were going to expand. The province of Quebec was going to expand into the land they used to have, but was taken. They are going to take it back.
