Fort Parker Massacre
Comanches attacked Fort Parker, killed all the men that lived there, and captured Cynthia Ann Parker along with some of her relatives. They were all rescued or ransomed within a few years, but Cynthia Ann stayed for 25 years. She married and had had several children. -

Texas Archives War
The Texas Archives War is an argument over whether or not to move the Republic's national archives from Austin to Houston. It was also a disoute over whether or not to make Houston the new capital. -
German Immigration
Germans immigrated to Texas to flee the economic troubles in Europe that were occuring in the 1800's. No exact date. -
Mier Expedition
The Mier Expedition originated from the Somerrvel Expedition, a failed military operation whose mission was to investigate settlements along the Mexican border. It caused a battle at Ciudad Mier that was won by the Mexicans. -
