Pesents Rebled anginst the German Princes
Many pesents, meanwhile, wanted not only reform of the clergy but also lower taxes. In 1524 and 1525, pesents rebelled against the German princes. They expected Luther's encouragement, but he opposed political revolution and instead urged tem to stop fighting. When they did not, he called on the nobility to crush the revolt. -
