pony boy’s first meet with Soc
When Pony stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness to the movie house, he was met a group of boys driving a car named Soc. That is the start of the story. Pony was in trouble because Soc offended him a lot from the street, the train to the small forest eventually. Bob put a knife to Pony’s neck and Soda saved Pony at last. It showed the relationship between the greasers and Soc. -

movie time
The greasers went for a movie. They met a girl called Cherry. Dally was trying to flirt with her but Cherry did not like so. Pony, Johnny and Two-bits seemed to have a great time with her. Also, Pony seemed to be into her so well. Bob was Cherry’s boyfriend, he made some trouble after the movie, although Pony liked her, she had to go with Bob. -
I killed that boy
The Soc got drunk, they followed Pony and Johnny. “You know what the greaser is? A white trash!” Bob was angry that Pony “picked up” Cherry, and the Soc were trying to bully him. Finally, Johnny killed Bob. -
Sneak out to the church
After they killed Bob, Johnny and Pony was very scared. Soda told them to take 3:30 train to a church. And then they took the train and arrived the church in the morning. -
Nothing gold to stay
Since Johnny killed Bob, Johnny and Pony ran away to a church. They had to stay in there, maybe forever. The environment in there was terrible. In order to kill time, Pony read a book. One morning, the sky was in gold, they got up earlier than usual. Both of them had lost hopes, they hoped to stay in their nature, just like the other kids, but they can’t. -
Hero
The church was on fire. There were some children still in the church. Pony, Johnny and Soda came into the church and saved the children. Generally, they should be called heroes. However, they felt guilty, because they had killed a person before. -
Mother
Johnny’s mother asked for seeing her son. She had never cared about Johnny and she yelled at Two-Bit. If she cares Johnny more, Johnny may not become like this. She should be in the hell. -
Argument because of the newspaper
The issue they had saved children in the church had put on the newspaper. They are called hero. Pony boy was worried about whether the police had known that Johnny killed Bob, so Pony can’t leave the house. It was just a normal morning, nobody knows what it means. -
Talk before the rumble
Pony and Randy had a talk before the rumble. They worried about that there will be a lot of people went to death. Pony worried Johnny most. Same as Soda, he wants to protect Johnny and is afraid that he would go to the prison one day. Both of them were not willing to fight, but they had to. -
Johnny
Johnny was serious ill in hospital. He can’t feel anything below his back. Pony and Two-Bit came to see him. The greaser can’t live without Johnny. -
We must win the rumble for Johnny
Dally was injured in the fire too, he was in the hospital. He didn’t know how Johnny going initially. Soda and Pony came to see him, and told him Johnny was seriously sick. Dally was very upset and he cut his arm and said: “we must win the rumble for Johnny”. Johnny seems to be most like their brother, not only a member of greasers. -
The real identification of Cherry
On the way home, Pony met Cherry, and had a talk with her. Cherry was cared about that Johnny had killed Bob, she loved Bob because Bob had another side, which was sweet and caring. Finally, she showed her real identification, she was from the north, she was one of Soc. -
Rumble
The rumble began. The most exciting conflict between greasers and Soc was just happened at night. Unfortunately, they are found by the police. “He is smart like me”, actually is not, because the overprotection for Johnny would finally harm him. -
stay gold
They beat the Soc. It was a rainy and cold night; they came to the hospital to tell Johnny the good news. However, Johnny was going to die. When he was at his last gasp, he told Pony boy, “stay gold”, which means to stay in own nature. The greasers all knew that Pony and Johnny were not willing to fight initially, but Johnny paid himself for saving people, also for the greasers. -
He is just a kid
Dally was very upset when he knew that Johnny was died. He couldn’t control himself, which resulted in that he robbed the grocery shop. The police was trying to catch him but finally he was shot by the police. Johnny, Pony, Soda, all the greasers are the kid, they afforded too much which they didn’t need to afford. If they lived in a complete family, they should be more happier, also they could be best friends for studying, basketball and other interesting things. -
The sunset
Everything returned to normal. Pony read the letter which was from Johnny. “you’re gold when you’re a kid, like green. When you’re a kid, everything is new. Dawn, like the way you dig sunsets, that’s gold”. Pony decided not to fight anymore, he would lead his own life, the colorful, beautiful life he should hold. He started to write his own story.
