Socs bullying Ponyboy.
A red Corvair followed me and made me my friend Johnny’s bad experience, when he was 16, the Socs hurt him badly.The Socs got off of the car, I was scared. “Need a haircut, greaser?” The medium-sized blond pulled a knife out of his back pocket and flipped he blade open. I was afraid that they will kill me. At that time, Darrel came and Socs ran away. This part introduces their relationship between Socs and greasers. -

This part also show us the main characters in this book, let us know this book is full of fight and discrimination In the dark society, Greasers did not have justice surroundings to live. -
Dally took liberties with Cherry and Marcia.
I was waiting for Johnny at the corner of the street, when they came here and we went to the cinema of car. We met Cherry and Marcia at there. They were both beautiful and Socs. Dally took liberties with them and Cherry shouted at him. The writer told us what the relationship between Scos’s girls and Greasers also describe Ponyboy’s moral action to show us he was very kind. Cherry was not a flighty girl although she liked him. -
Ponyboy and Cherry talked about Johnny.
When Dally wanted to flirt Cherry again, Johnny stopped him. Ponyboy and Cherry went to buy popcorns, Cherry asked questions about Johnny. Ponyboy told that he used to hurt badly by Socs. They went back to the seat and kept watching.This part described the history about Johnny and they shared their opinion of the difference between Socs and Greasers. We knew a different Johnny from this part, it was very shock.The writer as well as told us that they became good friends -
Ponyboy and Cherry talked about the difference about greasers and socs.
When the movie finished, Greasers sent Cherry and Marcia went back home. Ponyboy and Cherry talked about the difference between Socs and Greasers. Cherry said that we had different sense of worth and we live in different life surrounding. Greasers are more emotional but score are sophisticated. We talk about the sunrise in the different place. Ponyboy was shouted by Darry because of got home late, Ponyboy was angry and ran to the lot
Girl’s boyfriends came here by his mustang run car. Cherry wanted Ponyboy to talk about Darry, Ponyboy thought that Dally did not like him however others did not think so. They try to escaped them but they were fail. They tangled with Scos and girls back home with Scos. Darry argued with Ponyboy because of Ponyboy got home late. Ponyboy went to the lot with Johnny. This part shows that Ponyboy may be had some misunderstanding with Darry and also show us the nervous relationship between them. -
Johnny killed Bob.
When Johnny and Ponyboy arrived at the park, Bob(Cherry’s boyfriend) and some other Socs came and began to shout at them. Then, Johnny killed Bob. He did not mean to that, just for self-defense. Ponyboy and Johnny wanted to escape. This part hints what will probably happen next. And this is the reason for why Ponyboy and Johnny had to escape. Maybe because of this, Socs and Greasers’ relationship would become more nervous. -
Ponyboy and Johnny go to the church on the Jay Mountain.
After Ponyboy and Johnny killed Bob, they went to find Dally, because he is the only person who can help them. Dally gave them a gun and some money, he also gave Ponyboy a heavy jacket. Dally wanted them went to the church on the Jay Mountain. This part told us that Ponyboy and Johhny’s escaped life begins. This part also make readers become curious of what will happen next, maybe they will die on the mountain, maybe they will be found by the police, or maybe they will be safe and came back home -
They settled down.
Johnny bought many sausages for a week and a book named<Gone with the wind>, they cut their hair in order to make others cannot recognize them. The days were long. They enjoyed watching sunrise, however, nothing gold can stay. “Nothing gold can stay” is an important sentence, it also means that Ponyboy may think their escaped life cannot be always safety, they will be caught someday. People cannot always live in a very good life, hardship will come at last. -
Ponyboy, Dally and Johnny put on the church fire.
The church got on fire, Ponyboy and Johnny came to see what happened. They thought that their cigarette was the resource of this fire. Suddenly, a women said a some children were still in the church, so Ponyboy and Johnny ran into the church to save the children, too. Dally came, too. They saved the children, but they all got hurt. Dally got a very bad hurt and nearly die. This part shows that Greasers were also very kind, they can in spite of their life in order to save children. -
Dally came to visit them.
At the fifth day, Ponyboy got tired of sausages, and Dally came to visit them.Dally said that they were safe now and he brought a letter from Soda, and then Dally brought Ponyboy and Johnny to eat DQ. Dally also said that Greasers and Socs will have a fight in the lot, Cherry was a spy of Greasers. This part means that Dally and Soda were very cared about them, and their escaped life was not easy, they had to eat the almost same food everyday. Randy came to Ponyboy’s home.
Randy came to Ponyboy’s home, he wanted to talk with Ponyboy. Ponyboy believed that if Randy was in the same situation, he will save the children, too. Randy said that he will not join the fight between Socs and Greasers tonight. He hates fight, no matter who wins, there will have no advantages. Randy ain’t a Soc, he is just a guy. This part shows that Randy is a very king and understanding person. He is a Scocs but he did not like the fight and he knew that nothing good can happen -
Johnny was in dangerous situation.
Johnny was in a bad situation, he wanted Ponyboy to read <Gone with the wind> for him. Johnny was afraid that he cannot walk anymore. Johnny said that:” I don’t want to die now. It ain’t enough. Sixteen years ain’t long enough.” Johnny was desired for living. When Johnny is not far from the death, he began to understand many things. He was afraid of death in his heart of hearts. He started to realized that sixteen years wasn’t long enough and he still had many things which he want to do. -
Greasers and Socs had a fight and Greasers.
After the dinner, they went to the lot to had a fight with Socs. Greasers have twenty people and Socs have twenty-two people. Randy did not come. Greasers won and then they prepared to go to the hospital. Some readers may think that Greasers won was an happy end. But this also hint that something bad may happened next. This was the last fight between Socs and Greasers, maybe after this, Socs and Greasers’ relationship will get better. -
Johnny died.
Ponyboy told Johnny that they won, Johnny said that fighting is not good and he wanted Ponyboy to stay gold. Then, Johnny died and Ponyboy was extreme sadly. The point of this part is that Johnny wanted Ponyboy to stay gold, maybe after many hardships, Johnny finally understand that keep a kind heart is the most important thing in the world. Maybe this is also the key point of the whole story. Through many fights and hardships, he knew the most meaningful thing in the world. -
Dally robbed a shop and was killed by the police.
Dally could not accept the truth that Johnny was die. He robbed a shop and finally was killed by the police. Dally died, but he is mean to die, he always can do what he want to do. Johnny’s death already cause a strong impact of this novel, then, Dally died. His death makes the story more sorrowful and makes Ponyboy reaches the lowest point of his whole life. Johnny and Dally’s death make us know the dark society and how fragile life is! People can die at any time because of different reason. -
Ponyboy felt very angry because Randy always talk about Johnny.
Randy came to see me and told me that he is going to go to the court because of Bob’s death. Ponyboy was nearly emotional flooding and he kept saying that he killed Bob, not Johnny, Johnny was not died. This part shows that Ponyboy cannot accept Johnny’s death and he kept telling himself that Johnny was alive. Ponyboy loves Johnny so much, that he wanted to keep him in his memory forever. Ponyboy did not want Johnny to be a killer. -
Ponyboy’s grade fall behind.
When Ponyboy back to school, his grade fall behind. The teacher said that his English could not pass and if Ponyboy can give him a good essay, he can get a “C” in his final mark. Since then, the students in the school began to stay away from Ponyboy. This part shows that many students were afraid of Ponyboy and they do not understand Ponyboy’s real heart. Ponyboy’s grade fall behind, maybe after so many things, he cannot pay attention to his school life anymore. -
Ponyboy put all his memories in his essay.(1)
When Ponyboy went back home that day, he found a letter in the <Gone with the wind> which Johnny had written to him. In the letter, he wrote” ”. After he read this, he decided to wrote their stories in his essay. In this reality society, always have kind people to around you. The Greaser’s experience was not in vain. When you are a little boy, everything is new but when you grow up everything is so boring. You need to adapt your daily life. -

. Those sentences are from Johnny. He wants Ponyboy took Dally to watch the sunrise but he did not knew that Dally had been dead. You can feel that what is the real brotherhood between the Greasers form this chapter. It is not a happy ending. As if they soul still live around Ponyboy. Writer use Ponyboy wants to write his experience in the essay to make this novel circulate again. end.
