Proclamation of 1763
The Treaty of Paris was signed, ending the French and Indian war, and Britain got all of the Ohio valley but told the colonists not to migrate west. the Proclamation of 1763 made it against the law to move west past the Appalachian mountains. Navigation Act of 1763
The British issued taxes that controlled the trade of the colonists so that they couldn't import goods from countries other than Britain. The colonists had to have the goods shipped to an English port, shipped to the colonists in an English ship, and sold by an English merchant. -
The Sugar Act
The Stamp Act lowered the tax on imported molasses, but they were enforcing the tax strongly now. the colonists complained about how Britain was taxing them without their representation. the colonists started smuggling more molasses and the British navy tried those who were caught, eating away at British loyalty

Boston Massacre
A British official ordered the stationing of British soldiers in Boston. the colonists rioted and there was a mob. the British soldiers called for reinforcements and the colonists got even more angry, and started throwing rocks and snowballs at the soldiers. the British soldiers fired, without the permission of their commander, upon the crowd killing 5 and wounding many others.

Boston tea party
After the Boston Massacre the British repealed all the taxes except the tax on tea. The British gave British East India Company a monopoly on tea, putting a tax on the tea, but it was sold at a lower price. the colonists thought "how long will the price be kept low?" and were angry. three ships carrying tea entered the Boston harbor. colonists dressed as native Americans sneaked on the ships at night and tossed all the tea over into the harbor.

Intolerable acts
Britain was very mad about the Boston tea party, and stopped all trade in the Boston Harbor, only allowing firewood and food. they also allowed commanders to station their soldiers in private homes, like the quartering act. the colonists responded to this by having the first continental congress since the stamp act.
