Odysseus Leaves Phaeacia
Who: Odysseus
Where: Phaeacia
What: Odysseus finishes his story and leaves Phaeacia. The king gifts him with many things and sends him off. After he leaves, Poseidon gets angry and starts complaining to Zeus about the subject. This goes on in lines 4 - 169 of Book 13. -

Where: Ithaca
What: The servants and crew men carrying Odysseus carried him off board and left him on the beach. He woke up, unaware of where he was. The goddess Athena came to him disguised as a shepard and told him of what happened. After she revealed herself, she turned him into an old beggar, to disguise him from everyone. This went on in lines 188- 440. -

Where: On his way to the Palace
What: Roaesa are long, thorny, sentient vines cursed by Demeter for choking out her crop. Odysseus trips over one of the vines and they try to kill him before the loud noise of a bull being herded frightened them. Odysseus cut the vines off of his legs and throat before walking on. -

Who: Odysseus disguised as a beggar
Where: the Swineherds hut
What: After walking to the hut, the dogs that were with the swine herd tried to attack him.The swine herd stopped them and asked Odysseus into his home. "All of a sudden the dogs observed Odysseus/ They howled and ran at him, barking furiously./
Odysseus was alert enough to drop his staff/
