    The defeat of the Nubians

    After the defeat of the Hyksos, Ahmose marched on the Nubians to take advantage of their large amounts of gold and was victorious.
    While king he successfully brought Egypt out of its long crisis and set them up for a secure future in the new kingdom.

    The Valley of the Kings

    The valley of the kings was built. It was a series of tombs and was the burial ground for the Pharaohs of the new kingdom.

    thutmose III's reign

    Hatshepsut: rise to power

    Hatshepsut was regent to Thuthmose III but then become the first female Pharaoh. She was depicted as a male including statues and art that showed her to have a beard and other manly features (this was to stay in power).

    Nefertiti

    Nefertiti was the second female pharaoh and ruled alongside Akhenaten.

    Akhenaten rejects the worship of amen and polytheism and introduced Aten (the sun god) and monotheist religion.
