The Crazy Idea
Thomas thinks that if he go through the changing he'll find out how to escape the maze. So he tries to get stung by the Grivers. -

Thomas goes through the Changing
Thomas gets stung a dozen times by the Grievers and goes through the changing. He remembers that he helped build the maze and remembers the way out. -

The plan
Thomas tells Newt that there needs to be a gathering because he knows the way out. Thomas tells the keepers what he remembered during the changing and tells them there is a way out... but it's through the Griever hole. -

The escape
Thomas, Newt, Minho, Frypan, Teresa, Chuck, Alby, and a large group of gliders made a plan to leave the Maze through the the Griever hole. They knew some of them would die trying to leave but they would die trying to escape. Only half the group made it because there were Grievers attacking them on all sides. They went thorough a long tunnel and ended up in an office type building. -
The Rescue
When they got to the building there was a lady there with Gally, Gally said the people were controlling him. He had a knife in his hand and lunged forward to attack Thomas when suddenly Chuck jumped in front of Thomas to save his life. Chuck died in Thomas' arms and then Thomas went crazy and attacked Gally. Then a group of people came in and shot the WICKED workers and took the Gladers out to a bus to leave the Maze forever. Then one of their rescuers explained about a disease called the Flare.
