The Great Depression (Start)
This devastating event happened soon after the Stock Market Crash in October, which wiped out millions of investors when Wall Street went into a panic. Levels of unemployment steadily rose (13 to 15 million some Americans were unemployed.) and half of the country's banks had failed.
FDR helped lessen the worst of the Great Depression, but it didn't fully leave until WWII started in 1913 which kicked American Industries into high gear. -
