Chapter One
If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction, great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe that none of this ever happened. Percy is telling me that its my choice if I want to believe what I read about the Gods. When Percys says this It makes me want to keep reading more. It also makes me feel like I am talking to a friend and maybe it is true what he is telling me. When I read this sentence it opened my mind to what Percy is going to tell me in the novel. -
Chapter Two
"It got so I almost believed them – Mrs. Dodds had never existed." Sometimes when we think about something for a long time we begin to believe it isnt true. People can be good at convincing each other of things being lies when it really was the truth. Often if I dont want to believe something I can come up with reasons why it might not be real. This is what this sentence made me think of. -
Chapter Three
"Her own parents died in a plane crash when she was five, and she was raised by an uncle who didn't care much about her. She wanted to be a novelist, so she spent high school working to save enough money for a college with a good creative-writing program. Sometimes our life doesnt go the way we planned. We dont get to always choose what happens to us but it is important we still work hard to get what we want. I have always had to work hard for what I want. I can relate to Sally with this quote.
