THE LIFE OF OLLIE ROSEN O'MALLY

  • OLLIE'S BIRTHDAY IN THE TOWN OF JONESBOROUGH

OLLIE'S BIRTHDAY IN THE TOWN OF JONESBOROUGH
THE REASON WE WANTED TO LEAVE IRELAND IS THAT OUR HORRIBLE UNCLE WHO LIVED WITH.HE WOULD STEAL ALL OUR MONEY FROM THE SAVINGS BOX AND USE IT TO BET ON FIGHTERS.ANOTHER REASON IS OUR HOUSE WAS STARTING TO GET VERY CROWDED.SO ME,MY MUM,MY PAPA, AND MY LITTLE BROTHERS AND SISTERS LEFT FOR AMERICA.THE REASON IM WRITING THIS IS BECAUSE MY PAPA USED TO SAY "NOW OLLIE,THERE WILL COME A TIME IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU LEAVE THIS EARTH SO WHILE YOU'RE STILL HERE LET THE WORLD KNOW OF THE O'MALLYS"
  • THE O'MALLYS COME TO AMERICAN

    THE O'MALLYS COME TO AMERICAN
WHEN WE CAME TO AMERICA I REMEMBER MY FAMILY ACTING AS THOUGH SOMEONE HAD DIED.BUT FOR ME I WAS HAPPY.NOW WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO LIVE WITH OUR UNCLE WHO SPENDS ALL HE CAN ON FIGHTERS.I REMEMBER COMING TO ELLIS ISLAND.THE FIRST THING I SAW WAS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY SHE SHINED IN ALL HER GLORY .I HATED THE HEALTH TESTS THOUGH.MY WEE BROTHERS AND SISTERS CRYED THE WHOLE TIME. WE WHERE STUCK IN A SMALL ROOM WITH ME, MY MUM, MY PAPA, AND MY 11 BROTHER/SISTERS.WE STAYED ON ELLIS ISLAND FOR 2 YEARS.
  • MY PAPA GETS DRAFTED

    MY PAPA GETS DRAFTED
IRISH WAR DRAFTSWHEN MY PAPA HEARD THAT IRISH IMMIGRANTS WHERE GOING TO BE DRAFTED INTO THE WAR HE WAS FURIOUS.HE DECIED TO GO WITH ACOUPLE OF HIS FRIENDS TO A RIOT DOWN TOWN. WHEN PAPA CAME BACK HE LOOKED AS IF HE SAW A GHOAST. I OVER HEARD HIM TALKING TO MAMA AFTER BEDTIME TELLING HER HOW AWFUL IT WAS. HE SAID THEY TOOK A BLACK FAMILY,HUNG THEM,BURNED THEM, AND STOMPED ON THE ASHES. HE SAID HE TRIED TO STOP THEM BUT HE IS ONLY ONE MAN.HE SAID HE WAS SCARED FOR US. HE SAID WE SHOULD STAY INSIDE FOR AWHILE.
  • WE SAY GOODBYE TO PAPA

    WE SAY GOODBYE TO PAPA
THE PROTESTINGWHEN MY PAPA WENT TO GO BORAD THE WAGON TO TRAVLE TO THE SOUTH WE WHERE REALLY SAD. MY YOUNGER BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHERE CRYING REALLY LOAD.WHEN I WATCHED HIS WAGON GO OFF I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN.I FELT DEEP IN MY HEART THAT HE WAS GOING TO DIE BUT I HAD TO HAVE HOPE.THAT NIGHT SOME ANGRY IRISH MEN CAME AND INVADED OUR HOUSE AND SET IT ON FIRE. THEY WHERE ANGRY AT PAPA FOR NOT AGREEING TO PROTEST WITH THEM.WE HAD TO MOVE TO UPTOWN NEW YORK WITH MY MOTHER'S AUNT.
