The Legend is Born
Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York. When he was a baby his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. He was the son of James Jordan, Sr and Delores Jordan. He was the fourth of five children. -
Basketball Throughout Highschool
Jordan attended Emsley A. Laney Highschool. In tenth grade, he tried out for the varsity basketball team but didn't make it. During his junior year he then made the varsity team. -
University of North Carolina
Michael accepted a scholarship to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.He plays for the Tar Heels. At the end of the season of 1982-1983,Michael was named College Player of the Year by The Sporting News. -
Beginning of the NBA
By the summer of his senior year at North Carolina, Michael was debating whether he should leave for the NBA draft. He was later chosen the third player in the NBA draft. -
"Rookie of the Year"
In 1985 Michael won rookie of the year 28.2 points per game. -
Air Jordan 1
On September 15, 1985 Nike created a revolutionary basketball shoe. On October 18,1985 they were thrown out of the game. -
Player of the Year
During the time of 1988 Jordan won his first and only Defensive Player of the Year award.Within nine times throughout his career,Jordan was also named to the NBA all defensive first team. -
The First Ring
On June 12,1991, was the Chicago Bulls' final game in the NBA Finals of 1991. The team was previously playing the Los Angeles Lakers on the 2nd,5th,7th, and 9th of June. -
He Does it AGAIN!
It was then June 14,1992 when Jordan once again led his his team to the NBA Finals of 1992 against the Portland Trail Blazers. -
Third Time's the Charm
Jordan won his third straight championship beating the Phoenix Suns in a 6 game series. Later that year on October 6,1993 Michael Jordan announced his retirement from basketball. -
He's Back!
On March 18, 1995, Michael Jordan issued a two-word release to the media that said: "I'm back." That very next day he returned in his uniform wearing the number "45" on his jersey instead of 23. -
Bulls Get Defeated
The Bulls lost to the Orlando Magics during the playoffs of 1995.The Chicago Bulls weren't giving up just yet. -

Jordan wins his fourth NBA title with the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls defeated the Seattle Super Sonics in a 6 game series. -

Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bullls beat the Utah Jazz 4-2 in a 6 game series. Jordan also wins his 5th finals MVP award averaging 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists a game. -
The 2nd Retirement
Jordan's contract expired following the 1997-98 season. He would soon return two years later... -
The Finale
Michael Jordan wins his 6th and final championship with the Chicago Bulls.The Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz 4-2 in a 6 game series for the second year in a row and Jordan was named finals MVP for the 6th time. -
