Ned was born at Beveridge Victoria, Australia. -
Kelly family moved to Avenel, Victoria.
When the Kelly family moved to Avenel, Ned attended school and learnt how to read and write. -
Ned rescued a boy stuck in Hughes Creek
Ned Kelly aged 11 saved Richard Shelton from drowning in Hughes Creek, Avenel. Ned was thanked by the Shelton family with a green sash with a gold fringe, which he later wore under his armour at the battle at Glenrowan. -
Ned's Father died
John Kelly died in December 1866, making life a whole lot more difficult for the widow Ellen and their family. Ned at the age of 11 reported his death and signed his death registration. Ned also stopped attending school when his father died. -
The Kelly family moved again
The widow Ellen moved with her 7 children to north-east Victoria, to be near her relatives. Before long she chose to become a selector, and contracted around 80 acres of farmland from the government at Eleven Mile Creek, near the small town of Greta. -
Ned got arrested
Ned was arrested for the supposed robbery and assault of a Chinese traveler. He was held for 10 days, though after witness proof the case was dismissed. -
Ned started Bushranging
Ned apprenticed to bushranger Harry Power, who most likely taught him survival techniques for the bush. -
Ned went to Gaol
Ned aged 15 was convicted of assault and offensive behavior and sentenced to 3 months gaol for each offence, as well as being certain to have good behaviour for 12 months. -
Ned was arrested and charged for horse theft
Ned was arrested and charged for horse theft just after he got out of gaol. But it was shown that Ned was in gaol the time the horse disappeared, Ned claimed that he didn't know the horse was stolen at the time but Ned was still charged for riding a stolen horse and sentenced for 3 years hard labour. -
Ned won a boxing match against Wild Wright
Ned fought and won a boxing match against Wild Wright, without wearing boxing gloves. -
The Fitzpatrick Affair
Constable Alexander Fitzpatrick was at the Kelly homestead attempting to arrest Dan Kelly for horse theft without a warrant. But things didn't go to plan and there was a big argument about it. -
Kelly Gang Wanted!
The government were handing out a reward of $800 for the capture of the Kelly gang. -

Ellen Kelly sentenced hard labour for 3 years for the attempted murder of Constable Fitzpatrick. -
Stringybark Creek Gunfight
The Kelly Gang after the shooting deaths of 3 police officers, Sgt Kennedy, Constables Lonigan and Scanlon. The police party of four were searching for Ned and Dan in the Wombat Ranges to arrest them for the attempted murder of Fitzpatrick. Police Constable McIntyre was the only associate to escape physically uninjured. -
Bank Robbery at Faithfull's Creek Homestead
The Kelly gang took hostages at the Faithfull's Creek homestead then robbed the nearby Euroa Bank in north-east Victoria. The robbery was a success and they managed to steal $2260. -
The Kelly robbed a bank at a town of Jerilderie.
The Kelly gang striked again and had another successful bank robbery. They stole $2414. -
Glenrowan Siege
BTN Story - Ned KellyThe Kelly Gang took hostages into the Glenrowan Inn, and tore up the railway line so the train holding passengers that were police officers would crash. Plans didn't go the way Ned expected them to and the officers came to the Glenrowan Inn and had a violent battle.The officers shot Ned in his armour and the bullets kept reflecting off, but the armour was not protecting his legs so the officers shot at the legs and unprotected skin. In the end they caught Ned and arrested him. -
Ned Kelly was hanged
Ned Kelly's Death MaskOn the 11.11.1880 Ned Kelly was hanged, people say his last words were 'Such is life'. Over 30,000 people gathered outside the gaol to sign a petition to save his life, but he still was hanged. An hour after his death they shaved his beard and hair and make a death mask. -
Ned Kelly Remains Found!!
Ned Kelly's Remains found! In 2011, 130 years later after being hanged forensic teams discovered they found remains of the bushranger Ned Kelly.
