At two I have shown that I am right handed and I love to write on things. I write on anything I can get my hands on, including walls, floors, etc. (Much to my mother's dismay!)

Moved to a new house on Fielding street in Detroit. Eventually made my first best friend there (a neighbor down the street).

I started pre-school in September 1970. Did not like it! After we moved to a new house, my mother went back to working full time. She enrolled me in a local pre-school, but I was too attached to my mom and cried most days when she dropped me off and when I was there. It was not a good fit for me. My mom took me out of the preschool and had my Aunt Julie (a neighbor of my grandpa) watch me. I was so much happier and didn't cry anymore. :)

Started attending kindergarten at McColl Elementary School in Detroit, Michigan.

In first grade, I was identified as being a top achiever in my class. I was chosen to participate in a type of peer mentoring group, in which I worked with teachers and low-acheiving children. I got to travel to another school where I was able to interact and do activities with kids from my class, as well as from the other school.

My mom and dad decided to send my brother and me to a private school. I started at St. Hilary's School in Redford for my second grade year, and continued there untill the middle of my 5th grade year.

Fairlane Town Center mall opens in Dearborn, Michigan complete with a ice skating rink. I started skating lessons there when it opened. Although the rink eventually closed, and I went to a new rink to skate, I continued competitive figure skating for the next 8 years, until I was 16 years old.

In the middle of my 5th grade year, my family moved to Dearborn, Michigan. Started at a new school as well. Made a new best friend in my first month there, who remained my best friend through high school.

In the fifth grade I won a poster contest about solar energy. Loved to draw and create art.

At a birthday party for my grandmother, I tripped and fell going up the stairs. I dropped and broke a glass punch bowl and fell on it, cutting my had severely. I required thirty stitches in my hand and missed several days of school.

Started Junior High School at Lowery Junior High in Dearborn, Michigan.

Had my first menstrual period. An event signaling that ovulation had begun and I am deep in the midst of puberty.

Started high school! Entered Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan.

Became friends with Jenifer at band camp in the summer of 1983. She remains my closest and best friend to the present day.

Graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan. Received silver honors pin and band award.

Started attending college full-time at Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan.

After repeated tosil and throat infections in the spring and summer of 1986, I had my tonsils removed at the age of 19.

Graduated with honors from Henry Ford Community College with Associate in Arts Degrees in Graphic Design and Crafts/Sculpture.

Went on my first official date with John Turnage, who will eventually become my husband. I worked with John for a year and a half, and became best of friends before we started dating and officially became a couple.

Moved in with my husband-to-be. We rented a lower flat in Detroit, Michigan.

Graduated with honors from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, with Teaching Certification.

Obtained my first teaching job, teaching art full-time at Truman High School in Taylor, Michigan.

Started attending graduate school at Eastern Michigan University.

Married John Robert Turnage at Fort Street Presbyterian Church in Detroit.

Welcomed my first child into the world! Eliza Kate Turnage was born on March 12, 1999 at 8:30 pm, by Cesarian Section.

Earned my Master of Arts Degree in Art Education from Eastern Michigan University.

Closed on the sale of our first house and entered the world of home ownership!

Earlier than expected, Amelia Chole Turnage was born on February 1, 2002 by emergency Cesarian Section.

Amelia Chloe Turnage died on February 17, 2002 after only two and a half weeks of life. Born very sick and with a genetic abnormallity, her life was an inspiration to all who had the opportunity to know her.

Audrey Grace Turnage entered the world on January 5, 2004. After two previous c-sections, Audrey was born by vaginal delivery. A shock to all!

After 19 years of teaching, I was laid off from Northville Public Schools due to extreme budget cuts and class reductions.

After being laid-off from teaching, I decided to go back to school to persue a new career as a Physician's Assistant.
