    The First Chapter
    I was born on January 12, 1892 in Japan. I lived in a small village and we were very poor. We could not afford very much. My father and I decided to go to America in order to provide for my family. When moving to America we hoped to gain pride, and knowledge in making a living. I'm writing this in order to record what i had to go through and what my first thoughts are of the promise land.
  • Take Off

    Take Off
    Leaving the family was hard, and we took what we could. We borded the ship and waited for our arrival. Once we got to Angel Island we finally were able to get off. Once seting foot on the island we were suprised with the amount of people, and the nationality. We followed the diretions and set our luggage down. We were fearful as to what came next.
  • The Test

    My father and I were seperated and we were put into a room and instructed to take our jackets off. Myself, and many others were inspected. They lifted up our eyelids and checked in our mouths. I passed and soon after i saw my father. After that we were spereated and asked questions. We passed and finally made it through the island. We were ready for our next journey.

    The First Step to Victory
    We have been in America for a while, and we work long hours in factories. I work long hours, in hot sweaty, and dangerous conditions. I was often paid little if not anything. M walks home were dangerous and i was scared of being robbed. My father and I live in a small tenement with another family from asia. It was crowded and very small.
  • It's Not Over Yet

    It's Not Over Yet
    I have been living here for a while now. We send money back to my family in Japan. We plan on bringing them over here to live with us. We don't think it's quite time yet. My father and I make it our mission to bring them over and have our family back in one household. My father and I wok harder than ever, and soon enough it will pay off.
