Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in a city called Porbandar close to Bombay. He was born itno the cas system of Vaisya's. -
Marriage
Gandhi was married when he was only 13 years old. He was married to Kasturba Gandhi. -
College time!!
Gandhi defied his custom and went to college at London University for law. Students ignored him and were rude to him because he was Indian. -
The trip to Africa
Ghandi unsuccesfully at law school so he went back for his wife and kids and went to South Africa. THey traveled to AFrica. At Natal he was the first “colored” lawyer in the supreme court. He then built a large practice. -

Gandhi was angry on how England was treating the Indians (slaves). So he found the Natal Indian Co
ngress which is for Indian rights. But he still remainded loyal to England. -

During the Boer War Gandhi raised a amublance corps and served for the South AFrica Governement. -

Gandhi stated that he would go to jail or die before obeying an anti-Asian law. Lots of Indians joined him. HE was put in prison twice. -

Gandhis launched a noncooperation campaign against Britain, urging Indians to spin their own cotton and to boycott British goods, courts, and government. -

Because of Ghandis campaign he was put in jail for two years. -
Boycott for salt
Gandhi led over one thousand Indians on a 200 mile trip to the sea to get their own salt. He was then put in jail. -

India got their indeoendence. After their independence the country split into Pakistan and India. -
Death
While Gandhi was on his way to prayer in Delhi, Gandhi was killed by a Hindu.
