  • Chinese Nationalists oust the last Qing emperor, Puyi

    The Kuomingtang is a Nationalist group that errupts out of a want for China's modernization and Nationalism. Eventually Sun Yixian, the leader of the Revolutionary Alliance, which came after the Kuomingatng, overthrew the Quing Dynasty, and the last emperor, Puyi.
  • World War I begins as Austria declares war of Serbia

    Aftter Archduke Franz Ferdinand-Austria and his wife were killed by a Serbian nationalist in Sarajevo, the Austrians declare war on the Serbians after only a month. The Serbian nationalist who killed him was only 16 years old. This action begins world war 1.

    U.S. Enters the war
    The United States still hadn't initiated in their war efforts even after the German's used unrestricted submarine warfare multiple times against them, but had finally "had enough" after the Zimmerman Telegram. The Zimmerman telegram was an easy code to break that was sent from the Germans to Mexio stating that if they helped them and joined their side in the war they would later help Mexico gain back it's lost land from the U.S. The U.S considered this to be a direct threat and joined the Allies

    After WWI many Indians were unhappy that the British did not give them freedom or help them become more independent at the very least but instead restriced them even more. Gandi led the many angry Indians in a peaceful, non-violent, protest agaisnt this unjustice in a hop to gain independence. He used the philosophy civil disobedience.

    Kemal began as a Turkish military army officer and eventually rose to be the president of the republic of turkey, He is credited with being the founder of the Republic of Turkey. He struggled for reform by creating public schools, increasing women's rights, lowering taxes and more..

    The Long March was a Chinese communist flee from nationalists led by Mao Zedong.The Chinese communists knew they were outnumbered so they fled by partaking in a 6,000 mile journey. Thousands of the communists died on their trek. After their journey they settled in caves in northwestern china.
