After getting beaten by the sega genesis with it's 16-bit graphics nintendo released their own 16-bit console. It had a slow start but it definitely caught up with the genesis. SNES released new versions of Super Mario, Zelda. Metroid and a new game called Donkey Kong. -

The playstation's graphics dominated with 3D images in 32-bit. The first console to use CD-rom technology. Its popular franchises included Tekken, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil and EA games. -
