Hindenburg appoints Hitler to be chancellor because of his popularity with the people. -
The reichstag burns down
The parliament burns down and it is blamed on the communist party. -
The Enabling Act is passed
Hitler used this time to get rid of the socialist and communist parties in the Reichstag in able to pass his Enabling Acts. The Enabling Act would let him as Chancellor have sole control in a time of crisis. Then he would call a time of crisis and take full control of Germany. -
The boycott begins
Hitler inforces a boycott of Jewish shops and businesses. He also started to force the Jewish into ghettos and forced Jews to wear the Star of David. -
The Nuremberg Laws
The Nuremberg laws were created to segregate and take away citizenship from non-Germans. They also were used to force people into ghettos. -
Temporary Peace (The Olympics)
The Summer Olympics start in Berlin. So the Nazi party put a pause on Anti-Semitic procedures. -
Kristallnacht
A Jewish man attacked and killed a Nazi in the streets. In retaliation, SS and Nazis took to the ghettos and attacked, killed and burned Jews and synogog -
The St. Louis is denied entry into America
The ship St. Louis carrying nearly 940 persecuted passengers from Germany was denied entry into Cuba, the US, and other countries. They had to return to Germany were most would later die. -
The Final Solution
Hitler seeing the war was not going his way he ordered the accelerated killing of the Jews by SS officers. Gas chambers became more regular and mass graves were a necessity. -
