thanks to the handkerchief that Annmarie sent to her uncle, the dogs could not sniff out the Jews on the boat. -

the package that Annmarie delivered to uncle Hendrick was made with a smell that would want the Nazi dogs to smell, but once they smelled it they would not be able to smell anything. this was made by the resistance and the Nazis did not know.
