Lord Stanley's Cup
Sir Fredric Arthur Stanley created and donated the Stanley cup for Canada’s top ranking amateur hockey club. For every champion team there names are engraved on the cup forever. There are an estimated 94 teams on the cup. -
Ice hockey before the NHL
Before the NHL hockey was played as a winter hobby. They had clubs and wore basically no equipment. Just two skates and a stick. -
Equipment
The player has evolved dramatically in the last 110 years. Helmets are now required and shoulder pads, shin pads, gloves, pants and elbow pads. This has prevented serious injuries but does not protect from injury I general -

The goalie is a very important and hard position in hockey in general. They have much more equipment and must be flexible. They stop pucks with their bodies and keep other players from scoring goals. -

The Original 6 consisted of the Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal habs (Canadians), New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs until the 1967 NHL expansion. -

Many teams have come and gone through the NHL. Since 1967, 24 teams have joined the NHL. Also teams have left the NHL too. Such as the Colorado Rockies, California. -
When the Full 30 Teams Came Together
The ending of the ‘’collecting’’ period all the 30 team came together as the NHL. The latest team to join was the Colorado Avalanches.
