    Gutenberg Printing Press

    Gutenberg Printing Press
    Johannes Gutenberg was knwon for creating printing which used a process known as "movable type". this method has been used to print for 500years after the year 1450. A printing press is a device knwon to apply pressure to a surface such as paper and convert ink into text.

    Textbooks

    Textbooks
    Textbooks for first introduced in the 1500's. These were used in the classroom and had advantages as well as disadvantages. Some advantages includes of allowing the teacher to be organised and the children had information at their hands. However, textbooks becomes old or outdated and doesn't take into account the students' background or previous knwoledge.
  • Chalkboards

    Chalkboards were first introduced in 1800's. Chalkboards were not effecient as they could not allow teachers to store information and was not as intereactive witht he students.
  • Audio-visual age

    Audio-visual age
    During 1910, the audiovisual age began.
    1920: Radios (Radios were not interactive at all and could be biased. Also, students could not ask questions and could not pause as it was live. some families were not able to afford radios).
    1930: Film Strip Projector (Film projectors were more interactive and engaged with students. A more fun way to learn and could show large images.

    Introduction of TV learning. Hoeever, this was only accessible within the class and was proven to not be effective to education.
    Cmputers were introduced 1900s but were very limited to what they can do.
  • smartboard

    smartboard
    the interactive board was introduced in 1999. This had great advantages as presentations can be shown to the whooe class. Information can be stored and multiple tasks can be completed.
  • The Digital Age

    The Digital Age
    In the Digital Age, the technology that is at hand is unlimited such as tablets, computers, laptops, mobile phones and apps. They can be used for different educational purposes such as using the internet to complete research.
