John Napier invented a set of rods that were used to solve calculations and mathmatical equations. This was called "Napier Bones" also known as an abacus

Joseph Maire Jaquard

Oct 31, 1801

In 1801 Joseph Maire Jaquard invented a weaving loom that used punch cards to replicate designs.

Charles Babbage

Oct 31, 1832

Created the first machine that actually approximated the idea of a computer, that is input-output-execution. This machine was called the difference engine. An adding and multiplying machine.

Transistor

Oct 31, 1947

Each transistor could do the work of several electronic tubes and each was smaller than a post staamp.
