    Olympias gives birth to Alexander. He is born in Pella, Greece. It is rumored that his father is a god.

    Philip II of Macedon

    Philip II of Macedon
    Alexander’s father is at war to control Greece. While his father is away, Alexander spends time studying the exploits of his father's war.
  • 338 BCE

    The Battle of Chaeronea

    At the Battle of Chaeronea, Alexander and his father join forces to battle the Athenian and Theban armies. The Battle of Chaeronea resulted in a victory for Macedon, but it created conflict between Alexander and his father.

    The King's wedding

    50-year-old Philip marrys 20-year-old Audata. Philip falls at the wedding party which results to Alexander insulting him.

    Festival in Honor of the Gods

    Festival in Honor of the Gods
    The royal family of Macedonia host a festival in honor of the gods. Philip is stabbed by one of his royal guards and dies from his injury. The guard that stabbed Philip is quickly executed, while Alexander hold's his dying father.

    Alexander continues his conquest for Asia. He expands his kingdom over large amounts of territory, in course of the next 12 years.

    Alexander crosses the Sahara desert to visit the temple Siwa. The priest at the temple of Siwa informs Alexander that he is, in fact, the son of Zeus.

    Alexander and Darius are at war for Asia. After a major victory at the Battle of Gaugamela, Alexander was able to obtain control of Asia.

    Alexander Takes Over

    Alexander Takes Over
    Alexander takes control over Darius’s palace and Persepolis. In his intoxicated state, Alexander burns Persepolis as retribution for the Persian burning of Athens in 480 BCE. The morning after the burning of Persepolis, Alexander immediately regrets his decision.

    Alexander Pursues King Darius
    Alexander passionately pursues King Darius, to take him prisoner. King Darius is found close to death by Alexander's army. After an exchange of words with a Macedonian solider, Darius dies from his javelin wound. Alexander sends his body to Darius's mother and order for him to have a grand funeral.

    Alexander takes a wife named Roxanne. After his marriage to Roxanne, Alexander begins to assimilate to the Persian lifestyle.

    King Porus attempts to stop Alexander at the river of Hydaspes. Alexander is severely injured at the battle of Hydaspes.

    The death of Hephaestion

    The death of Hephaestion
    Alexander’s childhood friend, Hephaestion, died. His sudden death left Alexander depressed for days.
  • 323 BCE

    Death of Alexander the Great

    Alexander became critically ill for ten days and died on June 10. His last words state that his vast kingdom shall be given " to the strongest ". The reason as to why Alexander died is still unknown.
