My father, Jesus Garcia, was shot to death by angry apartment tenant. At this point my mother expected me and my 4 siblings to remain as calm as possible. My family was tremendously affected by this event. This event was life changing for the Garcia family.

At the age of 10 I was diagnosed with a tumor inside of my sinus cavities. I had major head surgery to remove tumor. My mother expected me to be the tough little girl she had raised me to be, but I was very scared. My siblings and extended family were all very nervous for me. Thankfully I was fine and my tumor was benign .

I was promoted to high school with an excellent grade point avarge, and was awarded a scholarship to the book store at the high school I was attending in the fall. My mother expected me to do just as good in high school and graduate with honors and a scholarship to go to college. My siblings were very proud of my accomplisments and cheered me on to do even better in high school.

Graduated high school one semester early. I had great grades, but no intentions of going to collgege. My mother expected me to go to college and do well, but was very mad when she learned that I was not planning on going to college. My siblings and friends were all very mad becuase of my choice.

I get married to Jonathan, “the love of my life" He was not sure about the wedding and though my family was against it I married him. My family did not support my decision but attended my wedding. There was not one single soul that supported this wedding and I went through with it any way.

Jonathan and I file for divorce. HIs family was very happy he was divorcing me, and so was mine. My mother had expected me to go to college and make something of my life not marry a teacher who had drinking problems. My family was all very supportive and gave me a lot of support and love during this hard time in my life. This low event in my life pushed me to enroll to college, for the first time at the age of 25.

George Zimmerman shoots Treyvon Martin. This sad event was more than just another shooting of an African-American boy. The circumstances of the event caused a lot of controversy and attention nationally and internationally.

On this date I got married to the true love of my life. Andrew is my best friend, lover, and the best decision I have made in my life. This day was the best day of my life. My whole family was very supportive of my marriage. My mother always expected me to marry a man like Andrew, and was very happy that I had finally found someone to share the rest of my life with.

I was diagnosed with second tumor, this time a pituitary tumor near my brain. I also found out that this is what had been causing infertility issues after trying to conceive baby for more than one year. My mother was really scared and as always expected me to pray and ask God to help me heal fast. I did not do much praying but I did start living a healthier life. My whole family was very attentive and supportive trough this tough time.
