Eris is Mad
Eris, the goddess of discord does not get invited to the wedding of King Peleus and the sea nymph. This make her angry and so she throws a golden apple with the writing “For the Fairest” on it. Hera, Athena and Aphrodite were fighting for it and asked Zeus to decide who got the apple, but Zeus told them to go to Mount Ida and ask Prince Paris to decide. So they did. -

Prince Paris the judge
When the Goddesses arrive to Prince Paris, he was awestruck. The goddesses tried to bribe him with different things in order to be chosen worthy of the golden apple. Paris chose Aphrodite because she told him that she would reward him with the fairest women on earth would be his to keep. -

The Kidnap of Helen
Aphrodite led Paris to the most beautiful women in the world. This woman was Helen, daughter of Zeus and Leda. Helen was married to Menelaus and when Paris came they welcomed him as a guest. Menelaus left to go to Crete and Paris kidnapped Helen. This was what started the war. -

Menelaus was Angry
Menelaus demanded his wife Helen to be returned but the Trojans refused. Menelaus persuaded his brother Agamemnon to lead an army against Troy. The greeks army was led by Achilles, Patroclus, Diomedes, Odysseus, Nestor and the two warriors names Ajax. -

Agamemnon Sacrifices His Daughter
Agamemnon sacrifices his daughter Iphigenia to Artemis in order to win favorable winds for the journey. -

9 Years of War
For 9 years the Greeks ravaged Troy’s surrounding cities and countryside. The city of Troy stood strong because it was fortified by Hector. -

Paris and Menelaus Meet
Paris and Menelaus fought and Menelaus almost won but Aphrodite saved Paris and took him in a cloud back to Troy. Menelaus looked for Paris but could not find him so he decided that they won the war but Hera said that Troy must be ruined for the war to end. -

Greeks are no Match
Since the greeks didn’t have their hero Achilles, they were no match for the Trojans. Hector led his army back into battle and Zeus went down to help the Trojans. Hector led the Trojans so well that they drew the Greeks almost back to their ships. -

The Plan
The Greeks realized that they were no match for the Trojans so they had to out smart them. Odysseus came up with the idea to build a wooden horse and have soldiers hide in it. -

The Wooden Horse
The Greeks built a wooden horse and hid soldiers inside of it, they left it at the gates of troy and made it look like all the greek soldiers were leaving in their ships. The Trojans took the Wooden horse inside the walls and at night time the soldiers snuck out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army to come in and destroy Troy.
