In 732, the Islamic empire wanted to take over the Franks empire north of Spain. The Franks and the Muslims met at the city of Tours to battle for power. The Franks won and Charles had hammered his enemies again. -

Charles the Great
Charles is known as the greatest king of all, he was the grandson of Charles the hammer. He felt the people were falling away, he set out to make his kingdom prosperous and Christian again. -

Charlemange crowned by the Pope
Charlemagne spent thirty years fighting wars to make his kingdom bigger. He fixed the old Roman roads, built new bridges and churches. He taught the Franks better ways to farm, began schools, he tried to make them cleaner and more civilized.
