After some struggle the 'Great Eastern' is finally lowered down into the water. -

After many delays, The Great Eastern finally sets sail on its eleven day maiden voyage. -
The Great Eastern is Decomissioned
After not being able to work as a commercial product, the Great Eastern is used to lay cables in the ocean until its decommissioning in 1888. The ship was then sold for scrap.
