Louis XVI was a bad leader who spent all his money on stupid things and didn't pay attention the people. So when he ran out of money he decided to give everyone else taxes by calling a meeting. -

Emmanuel-Joseph Sieyes had a speech that recommend that the Third Estate pass laws in the name of the French people. After a while they finally agreed to his suggestion. -
The Tennis Court Oath
The third Estate got locked outside their meeting room so they decided to break down the door of an indoor tennis court and then stayed there until dawn to come up with a new constitution. -
The Bastille
People started to gather weapons after they heard rumors that Louis was going to use the military force to dismiss the National Assembly. So a mod stormed a Paris prison and seized control of it. -
Assembly Reforms
Noblemen and a lot of speeches about equality because they were afraid and they joined the National Assembly. By the morning the Old Regime was done. -
The Great Fear
Soon a rebellion grew and a wave of panic came called the Great Fear. Peasants burned down manor houses and legal papers that bound them to pay feudal dues. -
Louis Almost Escapes
Louis XVI knew his family was in danger and other important people were leaving the country. So he took his family and tried to get to the Austrian Netherlands, but got caught and brought back before he could escape.
