    The Estates-General is called to order
    The Estates general is called to figure out a solution to the current financial crisis. The first issue was how to vote, either by estate or all together. In the end the vote was set to be by estate, giving the First and Second Estate the advantage. The decision in the end was to have the third estate pay higher taxes.     National Assembly Forms
    Shortly after the Estates-General was called to order, the third estate reps. arrive to locked doors. The angered members decide to gather in a nearby tennis court, during this meeting, they decide to draft the D.R.M. and take the Tennis Court Oath. The Tennis Court Oath was an agreement for the Third Estate, now called the National assembly, to keep meeting until the D.R.M was finished. (Notes)

    Revolution Begins
    As the King learned of the National assembly, he ordered troops to surround Paris to hopefuly disband the assembly. As the citizens begin to fear this, it is decided that the only thing to be done is fight back. Soon after, the citizens band together and raid the gunpowder reserves in fort Bastille. After the raid, the fort was torn apart brick by brick. (Notes)

    The D.R.M. is Finished
    The National Assembly finally finishes the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen. The document held democratic principles and political ideas about the equal rights of the people.   • The Bread March

    The Bread March
    Thousands of French women begin marching to the king's palace in Varsailles, with the intent of getting food, getting the king to sign the D.R.M. , and putting the king's family under house arrest in Paris. On October 6, 1789, the women charge the palace and slaughter the guards.
