    The French Revolution Begins
    The French Revoultion had mulitple causes. One of those reasons included the country's bankrupcy, which was cause my them being involved in the American Revolution and King Louis XVI over spending. When France reached this point of bankrupcy they tried to enforce taxes which led to strike and things of that nature.
  • The Fall of the Bastille

    The Fall of the Bastille
    The Fall of the Bastille is known as the greatest markers of the start of the French Revolution. The people attacked the Bastille becasue they were angry at the removal of Necker from the office of finacial minister, as they saw him as their "Champion". They wanted weapons and they knew the Bastille had some, so they attacked and they conquered.

    Adoption of Decleration Of Mans' Rights
    When France adopted The Decleration of Mans' Rights, they were saying they were going to come up with a political group based on the rights and equality of man. They also said that they were going to write a document with the same principles.
  • March to The Palace of Versailles

    The March of The Palace of Verasilles was an attack on the palace which had mainly women participating. They demanded that the King give them bread and move back into Paris with them. They did this because they felt as if the King had no idea what the poor were going through because ha=e had everything he needed in the palace.

    Flight to Varennes
    On June 20, 1791, the King and his wife attempter to flee to Austri for relief, becuase they felt they like they were living in prison in thier palace. They were hoping that they could leave for a short time and retrun later with power as absolute monarchs. They were caught early in their journey, and were forced to return. This was important because the French Constitution had just come out and it showed that the King disagreed with it.

    The French Constitution is Established
    On September 3, 1791, the French Constitution was made official which was a big step because some of those fighting the French Revolution were fighting because they felt they didn't have enough rights. Overall the French Constitution laid out guidelines for who was and was not a citizen of France and the rights that those citizens had.
  • France declares War on Austria

    France declares War on Austria
    France declared war on Austria because they knew that their government wasn't strong at the moment due to the war and they wanted to protect themselves. They thought that if the attacked first, then maybe they had a chance of defeeating them instead of being overthrown.
  • The King is Arrested

    The King is Arrested
    While France was declaring war with Austria, the people of France were showing how they felt by attacking. On August 10, 1792, they attacked the palace and arrested the King.
  • National Convention

    National Convention
    On this day the National Convention was held and declared that France was a Republic. While this was a big deal, it also got rid of the National Assmebly.
  • Rise of Napoleon: End of War

    Rise of Napoleon: End of War
    On this day, Napoleon crowned himself Emperor. Some historians would say that this was the end of the war becasue they entered the Napoleon Era after this day.
