On this day, a very angry mob stormed a prison in east Paris named Bastille. This was because it represented the dictatorship of the Monarchy. At the time, Bastille was considered of great political importance, capturing it would be a huge step for the revolution. This was the first sign of the beginning of the French Revolution. -
