THE CAUSES OF THE FRENCH REOLUTION
The influence of the enlightenment, the political, economic and social crisis were the causes of this revolution -
SPAIN (OCCUPATION AND LIBERATION)
Carlos IV became king of Spain and supported Napoleon in the war against Great Britain. -
THE CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY
A new Constituent Assembly was elected to make a constitution and at the same time, some protesters started riot on Paris streets and they attacked the Bastille. -
LEGAL REFORMS
By those protest, the Constituent Assembly implemented some legal reforms,such as the Declaration of the Rights of Men and the Citizen (all men are born free and equal in their rights). the Constituent Assembly adopted a constitution. -
FRANCE IS A REPUBLIC :D
A new Legislative Assembly was elected and it was denominated by two groups, the girondins and the Jacobins.The king opposed the reforms that were being made so he asked Austria for support. In response, the monarchy was abolished and France was finally declared as a republic. -

Some countries in Europe made a coalition and declared war on france to do not have a revolution in other areas. under the leadership of Robespierre, the Jacobins imposed a dictatorship known as the Terror (about 42000 people were executed) -
THE DIRECTORY AND THE CONSULATE
France´s modertate middle class had gained control of the country, and they established the Directory, it was a more conservative government which was composed of five members. -

A military coup and General Napoleon Bonaparte established a new way of government called ¨the Consulate¨. It was a group of three leaders which had Napoleon as First Consul -

Spain signed the Treaty of Fontainebleau with France. -
FRANCE OCCUPES SPAIN
French forces occupied Spain and sent Carlos IV and his son Fernando to Bayonne, in France. In Bayonne, Carlos IV and Fernando renounced their rights to the Spainish throne in favour of Napoleon and he made his brother, Joseph Bonaparte, the new king of Spain. -
NAPOLEON WINS BUT LOSES
Napoleon won to all the countries wich were against France (not Great Britain), but he lost because he had to divide his forces between two fronts. (Spain and the Russian Empire) -
NAPOLEON LOSES :(
In the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon was finally defeated. Those powers that won, re-established the Ancient Régime. (It only lasted for a short period of time)
