    A state prison, in Paris, was ruined when an angry mob came storming in and ended up burning the state prison down and letting the seven inmates out.

    Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen
    This declaration included a list of rights such as, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and separation of powers.
  • Women's March on Versailles

    Women's March on Versailles
    Women, and some men, gathered outside of the castle and demanded for bread for their families. Demanding to see the Baker boy and the bakers wife. the King agreed to meet with them and distribute bread to all. The women ended up getting into the Queen's quarters and getting all of the grain and bread that was hidden in there. The king said it was a mistake and that him and his family would move to Paris.

    After KIng Louis XVI was overthrown, Austria and Prussia called an issue to European rulers to assist in the reestablishment of the King. France then declared war on Austria. France's armies lacked organization and discipline, and Austria allied with Prussia.

    Reign of Terror

    After King Louis XVI was executed the terror began. The first person to be executed in this reign was Queen Marie Antoinette. The terror was supposed to defeat the enemies of the revolution. Robespierre was the leader of the reign of terror, he came up with the Law of suspects, which had eliminated many people even innocent people. Robespierre believed that violence was the only thing that was going to help this revolution occur, he even said "softness to traitors will destroy us all".

    Just like her husband she was also beheaded by the guillotine for treason. Her and her husband tried to runaway to Austria but they were captured and brought back to Paris.

    Maximilien Robespierre was beheaded by the creation he encouraged, the guillotine. He was the leading man in the Committee of Public Safety, most people despised him. He was captured and taken to the guillotine with his allies. There at his execution was a happy mob of people. The Committee of Public Safety lost its power after the execution.

    This event is viewed by some the effective end of the French Revolution. Napoleon ends up defeating foreign enemies of France, and spreads revolutionary ideas throughout the world.
