Meeting Of The Estates General
The Estates General meeting took place in the Palace of Versailles. They were called to discuss the political and economic crisis. Each Estate got one vote. -
Tennis Court Oath
The National Assembly was locked out of their meeting house in Versailles by King Louis XVI. They then met at Jeu de Paume tennis court. The National Assembly made an oath not to disband until the new constitution was created. -
Storming the Bastille Prison
The people of France marched to Bastille prison because it was an important place that held the monarchy's weapons. They fought until the prison surrendered. 7 prisoners escaped and the cannons and gunpowder were seized. -
March on Versailles
Women in a market started protesting because they couldn't afford the price of bread. They started to march down the streets of Versialles. The king finally met with them, and lowered the prices. -
Attack on Tuileries Palace
Over 20,000 people attacked the palace. The king and queen fled and was put under the protection of the Legislative Assembly. The Assembly placed them under arrest for treason and in the following month, hundreds of Royalists were executed and it was known as "September Massacre". -

Thousands of people were executed because of the conflict between the Jacobins and Girondists, which were the two rivaling groups of the Revolution The leader of the Jacobins, Maximillen, is the new leader of the Revolution -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
National Assembly eventually created a new law. Men were given equal rights and access of the public office was now based on talent, not status. Women and children were not included. -
Trial of Louis and Declaration of the Republic
Louis was found guilty of treason since his attempt to escape the Attack on Tuileries palace. He was lead to the guillotine Since the king had been executed, the government decided that France would be a Republic the next day. -
Execution of Marie Antoinette
Marie Antionette was found guilty of treason ten years after her husband's death. Her attempted escape lead to her death She was executed. -
Napoleon's Gain of Power and the End of the Revolution
Napoleon quickly rose from the military into power. After he returned to France, he declared himself the ruler of France. It is said that was the end of the French Revolution.
