A meeting of the Estates-General is called by Louis XVI in Versailles to create the new, inproved, and better tax plan because they were having a economy problems with taxes in previous years. -

The National Assembly
The National Assembly orders a commitee to create a new constitution. Becuuse of this constitution, The National Assembly was changed to Constituent National Assembly. During this timespan, speeches were presented and more laws were created.
On July 14, The famous Bastille fell because the Third Estase stormed it. -
The End of the Feudal Order
During this night, the feudal order ended. Feudal rights pertaining to economic obligations of peasants were to be abolished only with compensation paid by those subject to them. -
The Women's March On Versailles
A large number of women (about 7,000) march up on Versailles and chanted for food for many hours becuase the population of Paris was starving while Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette continued to feast like proverbial kings and queens. -
The Flight to Varennes
The Flight to Varennes was a very important event because it showed the National Assembly and the French people that Louis XVI could no longer be trusted. The King and Marie Antoinette attempted to escape but failed. -
The Constitution of 1791 is adopted
The National Assembly released the Constitution of 1791, which created a constitutional monarchy, or limited monarchy, for France. This allowed King Louis XVI to maintain control of the country. -
France declares war on Austria
The French armies lacked organization and discipline, and many noble officers had emigrated. The allied Austrian and Prussian forces quickly crossed the frontier and began to march on Paris. -
The first meeting of the national convention is held
Monarchy was abolished in France. It als set up the republic, and proceeded to try the king for treason. Later a democratic constitution was approved by 1.8 million voters but it never came into force. -
Execution of Louis XVI
King Louis XVI is executed by guillotine in the Place de la Revolution in Paris. This followed a conviction of high treason by the National Convention. -
A new constituion is adopted
It was a national constitution of France ratified by the National Convention. This year is also known as the Constitution of the Year III. This event is close to the end of the French Revolution.
