Bastille Day
Citizens of surrounding towns, take over prison. Only about 4 prisoners were there at the time, but they were freed. Most of the attempt was to take weapons for future activities then to take the literally prison. -
National Assembly creates Bill Of Rights
The French National Assembly created the Bill Of Rights for their country. Olympe de Gouges wrote the declaration of rights for women. -
The RoyalFamily Flees
The Royal family is caught in a postion in which they think the best way to get out of it is to flee. Unfortunetly they are found during the process and put under house arest. The French do not know what to do with the Royal Family during this time. -
Blacks in French Colonies get Equal Rights
Blacks in the small French Colonies get their equal rights. This is one of the reasons why the Englightment Period started, because they wanted Equality. -
The Guillotine
The Guillotine was inveted because it was said to be a "less painful" way to be executed. The Guillotine was a big contraption that you laid on like a bed, but strapped down and your head is in a hole, then a sharp blade comes down and slices off your head and you are gone. Its a quick way to be executed. -
King Louis XVI is executed
They kingdom voted to have King Louis XVI executed. But the way the choose was not the most delightful. He was beheaded in the Guillotine infront of many French people. -
Start of New Rule
The new rule was the start of a Monarchy. Maximilien Robespierre became the ruler for a short time until he was overthrown. He was then arrested by the National Convention. -
Coup D'etat
Napoleon participates in the Coupe D'etat that toppled the French Government. It mad the government not as strong, even though at this point it wasnt strong already. -
Napoleon As A Ruler
Napoleon became the ruler of the french. He is known for his aggrasive-war self, as he has been in activity duty as a general for the French. The unforgiving flaw is that his war-like personality is that government is not meant to run in such a way. ,
