  • The General Assembly

    In this meeting the king met with the three estates. the third estate insisted that the three orders meet together. the third estate insisted that votes be taken by head, rather than by order. this would give the third estate a majority. the king refused and the third estate didn't budge.
  • National Assembly

    once the Estates- general assembled at Versailles, the debate over voting processes had erupted into a war-like debate between the three estates. blinding the original purpose of why they were meeting in the first place. On June 17th, The third estate met alone and adopted the name National assembly.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Three days later, the national assembly met in a nearby indoor tennis court and took an oath, vowing not to disseminate until a new constitution was formed. in under a week, most of the deputies and 47 liberal noble had joined them.
  • Storming Of The Bastille

    Bastille was a french prison that was located in Paris, France. Bastille was stormed on July 14th by an angry and very aggressive mob. During the french revolution it was a symbol of power and the monarchy's rule. it only held seven prisoners at a time though the mob didn't go after them. After a violent battle the mob took control of the Bastille, the governor was killed.
  • March on Versailles

    Women set out on a march from Paris to Versailles in order to get bread because it was too expensive for many to buy. They were armed with pitchforks, and muskets. To the beat of a drum, the women chanted "BREAD! BREAD!". the population of Paris was starving while the king and queen feasted.
    Started on the 5th of October and lasted till the 6th.
  • The Flee Of The Royal Family

    The royal family tried to flee from Paris to Varennes after king Louis XVI realized that it was becoming dangerous for them because of the revolution. they were caught in Varennes the revolutionary government became aggressive towards the royal family.
  • The Invasion Of The Tuileries

    one of the turning point of the revolution was that on this day a little after three years since the attack on Bastille, the people of Paris laid siege on the Tuileries which was the official home of Kin Louis XVI.
  • The Monarchy Falls

    On the 10th of august in the year 1792 is the day that the french revolutionists over threw the royal family, The monarchy was overthrown because they found out that King Louis XVI was guilty of treason.
  • The Execution Of The King

    On this day in the history of France was the day the monarchy officially fell, this was the day of King Louis XVI's execution. Louis was executed by the guillotine; a machine with a heavy blade sliding vertically in grooves, used for beheading people. The revolutionaries made Marie watch as the king(her husband ) lost his head.
  • The Death Of The Queen

    she was killed at the age of 37 she also was killed by the guillotine. she was also trialed for treason. almost all of her children were killed but her daughter; Marie Theresa, lived in exile for most of her life after the death of her parents. the queens son Louis Charles disappeared in 1795.
