In 1789 on July 14th France revolutionaries stormed a building in Paris. This building held an armory and a prison. They stormed the building in order to have ammunition to fight. This is a very important part of the France Revolution because it was one of the first big fights that took place. -

This declaration was passed in 1789. This stated that "all men are born and remain free and equal in rights." This started the need and want for people to have freedom and be able to live in proper conditions. -

King Louis XVI, Queen Marie Antoinette, and their family fled to Varennes. They did this in order to escape the revolting citizens of France. However, they were unsuccessful and were found to a small town called Varennes-en-Argonne. This is a very significant event in the French Revolution because it shows how the royal family only cares about themselves and not the people of France. -

The French declared war against Austria in 1792. The French people wanted war because they wanted to spread the ideas of revolution to all of Europe. This is important because it tells that France was not just against the King and Queen. -

The guillotine was invented by Nicolas Jacques Pelletier in 1792. The first use was at Place de L'Hôtel de Ville and all executions were to take place there until it was moved to the Place du Carrousel. Prussia Declares War Against France
Prussia declared war against France in 1792. They did this because they are close allies with Austria. After seeing France declaring war on Austria, Prussia had to step in to fight the French. -
Marie Antoinette Executed
Marie Antoinette was accused of high treason. She was executed by guillotine on the 16th of October, 1793. This, like the execution of King Louis, was an important part of the French Revolution because the people of France decided that she was not suit to run the kingdom. -

King Louis XVI was executed publicly in 1793. He was executed by guillotine, which was a new invention at the time. His death was unanimous meaning no one voted not guilty. This is a very important event in the France Revolution because The citizens decided that the king would have to go by execution. -
France Declarers War on the British
The British watched, staying out of the way while France fought Austria and Prussia. This worked mostly because the French did not threaten them. However, in 1793 The French began intruding on lands threatening the British and the Dutch. This caused a war between the French and the British.
