People from the goldmines formed a group call the " Ballarat Reform League ". Everyone wanted no more Gold licences. It should be the govement paying the miners, not the miners paying the govement. -

Peter Lalor tells the miners to gather up tents and wood to build a stockade. While the diggers are doing that, Commissioner Rede is planning an attack -
The Attack
It was dawn when the fight began. Peter Lalor was shot but is still alive. 15 Miners died and 6 Troopers died. The miners lost. Peter Lalor needs to chop his arm off. He was sent to Geelong and a lady named Alicia Dunne looks after him. A poster went out to say that if anyone can capture Peter Lalor, they would be given L200. But Peter Lalor wasn't captured.
