    The Last Supper

    As Jesus's life was soon over he decided to hold his last gathering as a Passover meal, where Jesus would share his food with anyone that needed it. Jesus also began to pass around bread saying that it was his body and also the wine was his blood. This ritual is celebrated to this day as a sign of Jesus's sacrifice that he made for his people.

    Jesus's Death and Resurrection

    The event that was Jesus's death has forever changed his image, he was seen as someone who had died for our sins. Which has become what The Eucharist celebrates as a major event. For this Jesus was also called the lamb as his sacrifice was of similar importance as the lamb

    Since the end of Jesus's life the eucharist has gained significant importance to those who celebrate the event. It has evolved over the many centuries into what we see today, the many different parts of the Eucharist is what makes it so special, The gathering of family and friends, reconciliation of others, reflecting on the word and the sharing of meal. Since the Eucharist was originally Passover (still celebrated by the Jewish), it is important to remember the story that it had come from.

    When you celebrate The Eucharist you are taking part in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. As you share his body and blood through bread and wine, you are continuing the mission of Jesus through serving others. You listen and draw upon God's grace as you look forward to the resolve yourself of sin. As a group or individual you are believing in the story of Christ and continuing a long standing tradition.
