German forces captured the town Rossosh situaded in Russia and established a bridgehead on the east bank of the Don River, a river in Russia. -
Salonika
On the 11th of July 1942 the jewish men in the community were asked to go to Plateia Eleftheria, Liberty Square , Salonika for registration for labour schemes. Seven thousand men arrived in the square, and than, they were humiliated beaten and some of them, to death. -

Deportation of Dutch Jews
Beginning of deportation of Dutch Jews to Auschwitz. Jews are seized in their homes and are brought by truck to be deported to internment camps, then eventually on to Auschwitz which was a German Nazi concentration camps and extermination camps. -

She is having a hard time being alone with her family. They’re always picking on her and not on Margot. She thinks she doesn’t fit in with them. Anne also misses her cat, and cries whenever she hears her cat’s name. -
French police
French police from France rounded up more than 30,000 Parisian Jews, and the German troops put them in buses bringing them out of the city to concentration camps. Approximately 30 Parisian Jews survived . -

She wrote that the annex is now beacome really secret because all of the houses are being search for bicycle (but the went in hiding walking). On August 21, it was the first time mentioning the bookcase in front of the entrance of the secret annex. -
Dieppe
The 2nd Canadian Infantry Division leads an attack by the allied forces on Dieppe, situaded in France but, failed. Many Canadians were killed or captured. This attack was intended to develop and try new landing tactics for the next full invasion in Normandy.
