Mycenaean civilization
The Mycenaeans represent the first Greek civilization and their dominance spread throughout the Mediterranean, thanks to the power vacuum left by the decline of the Cretan or Minoan civilization. Taking advantage of the natural disasters that ruined the island of Crete, the Achaeans conquered it in the 15th century BC. C., and there they adopted the writing system called Linear B (Mycenaean Greek) as well as certain types of ceramics and wall painting. -
