Diocletian
In 284 A.D., a general became an emperor, and his name was Diocletian. To help the economy, he split rome into four parts since ruling rome was to much for one person. He made rules to help, but nobody listened. -

Constantine
In 312 A.D., after the long period of fighting for the throne, Constantine became emperor. He made many orders to help the economy. one of them was that the sons of workers had to continue and take on their fathers job once he died or retired. he also moved the capital to Byzantium where he built the city. The new city he named, Constantinople. -

The End of Constantine
in 337 A.D., Constantine died, and fighting began yet again for the throne. -

Visigoths
In the late 300's A.D., the Huns entered Europe, which scared the Visigoths, making them ask Rome for protection. After they fought, romans enslaved some of the Visigoths and made tensions worse. -

In 378 A.D., the enslaved Visigoths revolted against the Romans and won their land. Soon most Germanic tribes knew Rome couldn't protect itself and started heading into Rome.. -

in 410 A.D., a Visigoth leader known as Alaric, conquered Rome with his tribe and together they burnt Rome's records and looted their treasury. This was also the first time Rome had been conquered in 800 years. -

Vandals Enter Rome
in 455 A.D., the Germanic group known as the Vandals entered Rome. They went into all of the Roman houses, found anything and everything that was valuable, then destroyed and burned it all. -

In 476 A.D., A Germanic general named Odoacer overthrew Romulus Augustulus, and took control of western Rome. -
