Salah ad-Din (the new muslim leader) 1187 recaptured Jerusalem. -

Muslims allied under one ruler. Salah ad-Din. -

The christians failed to reconquer the town of Jerusalem -
Period: 1202 to 1204
The fourth crusade
The Pope Inocent III asked christians to recapture jerusalem. But the armies never reached the holy lands because some groups fought with other groups -

Children's crusade
A crusade leaded by a 12 year old french shepard. 30,000 children were said to have departed to thge holy lands. Alot of them died from hunger and exahustion. Thousands were kidnapped for slavery. -
